Description

Material

The main material is Aluminium Oxide, which is made of bauxite as the main raw material and smelted at high temperature. Its Aluminum Oxide content is generally around 95%, and it contains a small amount of impurities such as titanium and iron. These impurities give Aluminium Oxide a unique balance of hardness and toughness. The hardness is sufficient to meet the grinding needs of common metals and some non-metallic materials, and the toughness makes it not easy to break when subjected to large grinding forces, ensuring the durability of the flap discs. At the same time, the cost is relatively controllable, with a high cost-effectiveness, and it is widely used in various basic grinding scenarios.

Performance

Efficient grinding ability: Aluminium Oxide particles have high hardness. After being made into flap discs, the surface sand grains show strong cutting force under high-speed rotation, which can quickly cut into the surface of metal, wood and other materials, effectively remove rust, burrs, old paint coatings, etc., greatly improve grinding efficiency, and can complete more work in the same time compared to some ordinary grinding tools.

Flat type(T27):

◦ It presents the appearance of a classic round sheet with a flat edge. This shape is very useful in large-area flat grinding tasks, such as polishing of metal precision thin plates and surface treatment of solar photovoltaic panels. It is easy to install and fits tightly to flat workpieces. When rotating at high speed, the grinding pressure is evenly distributed, effectively avoiding local over-grinding and ensuring that the entire plane obtains a consistent smooth effect. It is widely used in electronics, new energy and other industries.

Usage

  1. Tool adaptation: Select the appropriate electric grinding tool according to the size and type of the Aluminum Oxide flap discs. Generally speaking, a high-power angle grinder is used for large-area rough grinding operations, and its high speed can give full play to the grinding ability of the flap disc; for fine grinding tasks, such as small precision mechanical parts or handicraft processing, a low-speed, high-torque straight grinder should be selected to facilitate precise control and ensure the grinding effect. At the same time, make sure that the tool spindle matches the louver installation hole and is firmly installed.
  2. Installation points: Before installation, be sure to shut down the machine and turn off the power, align the flap disc with the tool spindle and gently insert it, and then use the matching wrench to tighten the fixing nut. During the installation process, it is necessary to check by hand or with the help of measuring tools to ensure that the flap disc is installed concentrically to avoid eccentricity causing violent vibration during grinding, which will not only reduce the grinding accuracy, but also may damage the flap disc and the workpiece being ground.
  3. Parameter control: Reasonably adjust the tool speed and grinding pressure according to the material hardness of the grinding object and the grinding stage goals. For example, when grinding soft wood or rough grinding, the speed can be increased appropriately and the pressure can be increased to speed up the material removal speed; while when processing hard metal or entering the fine grinding stage, the speed needs to be reduced and the pressure needs to be applied gently to prevent excessive grinding from causing damage to the workpiece surface. At the same time, the grinding effect can be observed in real time and the parameters can be adjusted flexibly.
  4. Grinding operation: Hold the power tool firmly with both hands, so that flap disc touches the workpiece surface at a suitable angle (usually 15° - 30°), and move the tool at a constant speed along the established trajectory to ensure that the grinding surface is fully covered without omission. During the grinding process, pay close attention to the temperature and vibration of the tool. If the temperature is too high or the vibration is abnormal, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection to avoid safety accidents.

Precautions

  1. Safety protection in place: When using flap discs, you must wear complete protective equipment. Goggles should be worn throughout the process to prevent debris from grinding from splashing into the eyes and causing eye damage; thick gloves can effectively prevent hand scratches; wearing work clothes can prevent both dust and scratches. If working in a dusty environment, you must also wear a dust mask to protect the respiratory system; at the same time, warning signs should be set up at the grinding site, and unrelated personnel are strictly prohibited from approaching to prevent accidental injuries.
  2. Regular inspection and maintenance of equipment: Before each use, carefully check whether the power cord, switch, bearing and other components of the power tool are normal to ensure that there are no safety hazards; after use, clean the dust and debris attached to the tool body in time, and disassemble the tool regularly for maintenance to extend its service life. For flap discs, they should be replaced in time according to the wear condition. Generally, when the sand particles fall off severely and the grinding effect is significantly reduced, that is, when the wear exceeds 1/3, it is recommended to discard and replace with a new one to avoid affecting work efficiency and grinding quality.
  3. Standardize the operating procedures: It is strictly forbidden to use brown corundum louver blades in flammable and explosive environments, such as oil depots, chemical workshops, warehouses for storing flammable materials, etc.; during the grinding process, the louver blades must never be pointed towards yourself, others or flammable objects to prevent loss of control and injury to people; if the tool has abnormal vibration, overheating, odor, etc., it must be shut down and powered off immediately to check the source of the fault and restart it after repair to ensure safe operation.

Storage method

  1. Dry and ventilated environment: flap discs should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated indoor space, and the humidity should be controlled at 40% – 60%. A humid environment will cause the flap disc sand to become damp and clump, reducing the grinding performance.
  2. Classify and store in order: flap discs should be classified and put on shelves according to different specifications and forms, and different batches should be clearly marked to avoid mixing and confusion. When stacking in multiple layers, soft partitions should be used to prevent extrusion and deformation.
